In May 2011, the first chamber of the Federal Parliament ("The Chamber") voted for an amendment of the Aliens Law of 1980, tightening the existing rules for family reunification.
The training of  the "Association pour le droit des étrangers'"(ADDE)  will provide an orientation and interpretation of the new legal rules.

• 15:30h - reflexions on the social impact of the reform (Danielle Bouchat, social assistant)

• 16:10h - Latest developments of the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union concernig the subject (Thomas Bombois, Constitutional Court of Belgium)
• 17:00h - Protection of family bonds by art.8 of the European Convention on Human Rights but not covered by the law on Familiy Reunification (Sylvie Sarolea, UCL)
• 17:30h - questions and responses
• 18:00h - end
