Training: New Legal Rules Familiy Reunification

The Legal Service of the Brussels based Integration Centre "Foyer" offers a training session on the new Law on Familiy Reunification, published in the Belgian Monitor on 12 September 2011

In May 2011, the first chamber of the Federal Parliament ("The Chamber") voted for an amendment of the Aliens Law of 1980, tightening the existing rules for family reunification.
On base of the new legal rules the training of the Legal Service of the Foyer will provide information and advice for practitioners.

  • Family reunification with Third Country Nationals (TCN’s) (art. 10/10bis)
  • Family reunification with Belgian citizens (art. 40ter)
  • Family reunification with EU-citizens (art.40bis)

Analysis of the legal framework; comparison of the new rules with the former ones; impact of the new rules on pending files;

Second Part: 15.15-16.15h: Family reunification in our neighbouring countries: an overview about the current legal rules (by Indra Janssen, CAW Archipel).
