Activity Report 2023 (The Council for Alien Law Litigation)
In this activity report, the Council for Alien Law Litigation looks back at the year 2023, and in particular the number of appeals lodged, judgments delivered, pending cases, and the cassation rate. It also highlights some key points of jurisprudence in 2023 and says more about the developments that marked the organization last year.
In its activity report 2023, the Council for Alien Law Litigation (CALL) highlights that:
- 20.892 appeals were lodged
- 16.539 judgements were delivered
- 13.935 cases were pending
- the cassation rate amounted to 0.39%
The CALL also examines some evolutions and their impact on the jurisprudence last year, inter alia:
- Consequences of the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan
- Consequences of protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini
- Latest developments in the security situation in Gaza and Sudan
- Subsidiary protection in the event of armed conflicts
- Recognition of talibé children in Niger as a social group
- Consequences of the war between Russia and Ukraine
The situation of the CALL is also examined very closely, with a month-after-month retrospective and an update on the staff and budget, the legal service, as well as training and visits.
