Lunch seminar: Dillemas of Multicultural Accomodation - a Case Study of Roma Early Marriages in Romania
Lecturer Raluca Radescu from the CEMIS (Centre for Migration and Intercultural Studies) - Antwerp university, will examine multiculturalism issues, addressing community versus individual rights illustrated by the case study of Roma early marriages in Romania.
On Thursday March 8th from 12.30 to 1.3 p.m., the Antwerp university invites you to reflect on integration of minorities.
The lecture will particularly raise the issue of assimilation versus multiculturalism.
The conference will focus on the question of what happens when special protection is granted to minorities. It will explore the impacts Group-rights can potentially engender concerning violation of the rights and freedoms of individual members.
