EMN Austria Conference: Unleashing the potential of Migration Partnerships: Towards a comprehensive approach

This conference is dedicated to exploring how to maximize the benefits of external cooperation in the field of migration. A wide range of national and international experts, including policymakers from EU and non-EU countries, practitioners and researchers, will engage in discussions around the challenges and components of effective migration partnerships, exploring opportunities for balanced as well as comprehensive cooperation and innovative approaches.

 

What

The conference will be divided into three panels:

  • Panel I: Migration Diplomacy – How to build strong partnerships: The panel will discuss various diplomatic approaches and instruments for establishing Migration Partnerships.
     
  • Panel II: Migration Partnerships in the context of global, multi-faceted challenges: This panel will explore new ideas on how migration partnerships can sustainably address migration by leveraging its potential and managing associated challenges.
     
  • Panel III: New frameworks for legal migration pathways: The panel looks at the intersection of Migration Partnerships and labour migration, reflecting on new frameworks for regular migration pathways like EU Talent Partnerships, Skills Mobility Partnerships and Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements.
