EASO Expert Meeting In Brussels on X-Ray & Other Medical Evidence for Unaccompanied Minors & Age Assessment (2 Days)

EASO plans to organize a series of sessions on unaccompanied minors and age assessment in 2012. One of these expert meeting is planned in Brussels, focusing on X-ray and other medical evidence. It is possible for relevant actors involved in the field of unaccompanied minors to participate.

In line with the framework of the Commission Action Plan on unaccompanied minors and EASO’s work programme, on 14 -15 May EASO hosted the first of a series of sessions on unaccompanied minors and age assessment. Following on from these introductory sessions, EASO plans to organise an expert Meeting on the use of x-ray and other medical evidence in Brussels on 6-7 September 2012.

Other expert meetings on the following topics are scheduled in 2012 in Malta:

- Expert Meeting: EASO training & EAC Interviewing Children Module, 25 - 26 July;
- Expert Meeting: Interviewing Children Procedures, 26 - 27 July;
- Expert Meeting: Legal aspects, roles of courts & evidence assessment, 9 October;
- Working Party: Connection age assessment & asylum procedures, 10 October;
- Expert meeting: Way forward on UMAs & age assessment, 13 November.

In addition to EASO, the Commission, UNHCR and Member States, it may also be possible for other relevant actors involved in the field of unaccompanied minors to participate.
