In honour of the 15-anniversary, EMN has compiled a document spotlighting its most influential achievements and contributions from 2018 to 2022 at both EU and national levels, underscoring the network's ongoing commitment to addressing complex challenges related to migration and asylum.

The EMN Steering Board has voted on the topics to be analysed in studies and informs in 2026. In total, two studies and eight Informs will be developed next year. A Belgian proposal entitled "Enhancing Identity Management and Fraud Prevention in Migration Processes" was ranked first following the vote.

Albania has officially joined the European Migration Network (EMN) as an Observer Country. An Administrative Agreement was signed on 24 June between the European Commission and the Albanian Ministry of Interior. The arrangement was concluded on the margins of a conference co-organised by EMN Poland and establishes formal cooperation between the two parties within the EMN framework.

On 28 October 2024, the European Commission and the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia signed an Administrative Arrangement to collaborate in the European Migration Network, making North Macedonia one of the network’s Observer Countries. North Macedonia will contribute to the European Migration Network’s objectives, attending all meetings and contributing to the network’s studies and reports.

From 16 January until 13 March 2023, the Commission would like to hear your views on the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence and EU added value of the European Migration Network focusing on the period 2018-2021. The results of the evaluation are expected to be used by the EMN, its Steering Board, the Commission and EU Member States.
