French NCP conference “Towards a Common European Asylum System: Challenges and Opportunities”
On 29th November in Paris, the French NCP organised a conference on the CEAS. The next day there was a EMN-Cluster Meeting on reception conditions for asylum seekers in the EU: "existing mechanisms and good practices”
- The main objective of the third conference of the French NCP of the EMN was to facilitate the exchange of information and good practice between a wide range of actors involved in the implementation of the Common European Asylum System. The involvement of representatives of other Member States (Belgium, Germany, Sweden) and the European Commission (Stephen Ryan) and EU institutions such as EASO (Robert Visser) broadened the debate at European level.
More information in French, and the presentations of various speakers can be found here.
- The objective of the EMN cluster meeting on 30th November, which gathered thirty representatives from fifteen EU Member States, was to draw a general overview of the organisation of reception facilities for asylum seekers in the EU in order to start reflecting on the EMN 2013 focussed study on this topic.
