Today, EMN Belgium gathered a wide range of stakeholders during its policy event on migration and asylum

During this morning national event, EMN Belgium presented key developments on migration and asylum in 2022 and invited numerous key experts to explain important issues and perspectives for 2023.

Each year, EMN Belgium publishes an annual report on migration based on the contributions from Belgian experts in their areas of expertise. This report covers a broad range of issues inter alia in the field of legal migration, irregular migration, international protection, return, etc. In order to share and discuss some results of the report 2022 before its publication, EMN Belgium brought together about 80 experts who had the opportunity to increase their knowledge and network.

If you are interested in the developments that were presented and questions discussed during the event, please have a look at the PowerPoint presentation that is attached below. You can also have a look at the Country Factsheet Belgium 2022 which elaborates a bit more on key developments.

For further information, please note that the full Belgian report will be published around May 2023 and the comparative EU report around June 2023.

EMN Belgium wishes to warmly thank the experts who came to the event and who daily contribute to the work of the European Migration Network!
