Three Seminars on 60 Years Geneva Convention: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Three Belgian NGO's (Ciré, Flemish Refugee Action & BCHR) are organizing a serial of three seminars on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Convention.

 

The first seminar of the serial has the title: “The refugees of yesterday. The same as today?” The next seminars will take place on November, 18 and December 16.

The programme:

  • Frank Caestecker (lecturer University of Ghent): “A look back to the implementation and application of the Geneva Convention in Belgium (1951-2000). Is the Convention still relevant?"
  • Getjan Desmet (Nartional Archives): “Radical leftist and Jewish refugees from Nazi-Germany: Belgian refugee-policy between 1933 and 1940"
