OSCE-hosted conference discusses financial, social and legal factors related to migration, inequality and trafficking.

At the occasion of the 13th Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference in Vienna, discussions focus on inequalities linked with migration and the labour market, that increase vulnerabilities to trafficking.

The 13th Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference "Stolen Lives, Stolen Money: The Price of Modern-Day Slavery" is taking place in Vienna today and tomorrow (25-26 June 2013). More than 300 senior government officials, national anti-trafficking co-ordinators and rapporteurs, representatives from international and non-governmental organizations, law enforcement agencies and trade unions, as well as employers' organizations and migrants' rights groups attend this event.

At this occasion, panelists and participants explore the interconnection between trafficking in human beings and existing inequalities, importantly those linked with migration, both as root causes and as consequences of migration processes. The issue of labour migration as well as the application of human rights protections including economic, social and cultural rights in particular to migrant workers, are also addressed.
