International Migration Review Forum 2026 (4 days)

The second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF 2026) provides a global platform for Member States and relevant stakeholders to discuss progress on the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. The event will include interactive roundtables, a policy debate, plenary meetings, and opportunities for side events showcasing initiatives and good practices.

What

During the first two days of the Forum, four interactive multi-stakeholder roundtables will bring together Member States, international organisations, civil society, and other relevant actors to exchange experiences and discuss challenges in implementing the Global Compact for Migration. The afternoon of 6 May will feature a policy debate, during which technical summaries from the roundtables will be presented. The third and fourth days are dedicated to plenary meetings, allowing participants to review progress, share lessons learned, and identify next steps for safe, orderly, and regular migration in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In addition to the official programme, the IMRF 2026 will host side events organised by interested stakeholders. These sessions provide a platform to highlight concrete initiatives, partnerships, and innovative practices that contribute to the Global Compact’s objectives. An official calendar will ensure coordination and visibility, and organisations are invited to submit proposals by 28 February 2026. Selected side events will be promoted through the United Nations Network on Migration, enhancing opportunities for collaboration and exchange among participants.
