On 15 March 2012, the first ‘Round Table on Migration and Asylum Policy took place. The event was used to test the feasibility and usefulness of an annual platform for key stakeholders from the academic world, civil society and public administration to discuss the main policy developments on asylum, legal- and irregular migration.

For the first edition, the Belgium NCP not only focussed on the national policy, but enlarged the perspective by inviting the NCP’s from France and the Netherlands to present the corresponding national developments. The debate was introduced by keynotes presented by Belgian academic experts.
