ERA Annual Conference on EU Border Management 2024 (2 days)
This online annual conference, organised by the Academy of European Law (ERA), will debate the latest developments and challenges in the EU’s internal and external border management. It will inter alia analyse the latest proposals and reforms on the functioning and operation of EU border management systems, including Schengen, as well as Frontex’ role and responsibilities.
What
The conference will focus on the following topics:
- Latest news on legislative files and priorities to strengthen border management systems and their interoperability, as well on cross-border law enforcement cooperation and practical implementation, as well as on Schengen governance.
- EU databases for border management and their evolution: EES, ETIAS, ECRIS-TCN, renewed SIS, VIS, EURODAC.
- Frontex: latest migratory trends and routes, risk analysis and operational developments, fundamental rights.
- Migrant smuggling.
