ENOC 2025 Seminar: Guardianship and quality of care for asylum-seeking children in the context of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum
EMN Luxembourg, in cooperation with the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents in Luxembourg and the European Network of Ombudsmen for Children, organise a joint capacity-building event to support Member States and their respective institutions in implementing the Pact, especially regarding children’s rights.
What
During the event, participants will explore the implementation and impact of the Pact on Migration and Asylum on children on the move, with a particular focus on the role of Ombudspersons for Children in this context.
Perspectives from Italy, Greece, and Spain will be shared on guardianship systems and the quality of care for asylum-seeking children. The discussion will address key questions such as: How have guardianship arrangements and standards of care for both accompanied and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children evolved in recent years? What role do Ombudspersons for Children play in ensuring high-quality care? And how can this care be further improved, particularly in terms of access to health services and responses to the specific needs of asylum-seeking children?
When
