EMN Work Programme 2014
Based on the EMN Work Programme 2014, approved by the Steering Board in November 2013 and in the process of being formally approved by the Commission, the EMN will work this year on new deliverables.

The main components of the EMN Programme of Activities 2014 are presented below:
Study Topics 2014
The following studies will be delivered in 2014:
- “Detention and alternatives to detention” (early May 2014)
- “Good practices in the return and reintegration of irregular migrants: Member States' entry bans policy & use of readmission agreements between Member States and third countries" (early May 2014)
- "“Policies on unaccompanied minors – update of an EU comparative study produced in 2009” (July 2014)
- "Business-related immigration in the EU, challenges faced and new solutions” (November 2014)
EMN Conferences 2014
Two EMN Conferences will be organized in 2014:
- The first one will be hosted by the Greek EMN NCP in June 2014. both the "Detention and alternatives to detention" and "Good practices in the return and reintegration of irregular migrant" Studies will be presented on this occasion.
- The second one will be hosted by the Italian EMN NCP in September 2014. The “Policies on unaccompanied minors – update of an EU comparative study produced in 2009” Study will be presented on this occasion.
EMN Voluntary Return Expert Group - VREG
The EMN will absorb the EU Voluntary Return Network (VREN) as the Voluntary Return Expert Group (VREG). For each aspect of the voluntary return, the EMN network should provide its members with a clear overview of the situation in other Member States. This overview should serve as a basis to exchange best practices. Meetings will allow discussing future AVR programs and identifying synergies, plus coordinating actions in third countries.
Other activities
Other activities to be implemented by the EMN in 2014 include ad hoc queries, annual policy reports, country fact sheets, Informs, Bulletins, Glossary & Thesaurus, as well as other networking and policy support actions, including a contribution to the Stockholm evaluation.
