EMN Spanish Presidency High-Level Conference on legal migration (2 days)
Organised under the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this conference will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and representatives of industries and worker unions, and allow for meaningful discussions on the current state of labour migration, trends, challenges, and possible solutions.
What
On 16 November 2023, the high-level panels will discuss how legal and labour migration pathways can help solve some of the challenges the European Union is facing, such as labour shortages in certain sectors or ageing demographics.
On 17 November 2023, the panels will cover topics at a more technical level, analysing instruments and tools necessary to find effective and beneficial solutions for all. The main labour demands of sectors that have a strong impact on the economy will also be analysed.
