EMN Cyprus Conference: Labour Migration in Cyprus and the EU: Trends, Policy Framework and Developments

The event will serve as a platform to exchange experiences, showcase good practices, and develop practical guidance for national and EU-level policymakers.

The EMN Cyprus National Conference will address the critical role of labour migration in supporting economic growth and social development within Cyprus and the broader EU. It will explore current labour market needs, skills shortages, and demographic challenges, with a particular focus on key sectors reliant on foreign workers. The conference will review national and EU policy frameworks, including recent initiatives aimed at improving migration management, skills matching, and fair labour conditions.
Key themes include analysing labour market dynamics, examining governance and legal frameworks, sharing best practices and innovations from other EU Member States, and discussing future policy directions to adapt to technological and environmental changes. The event aims to promote dialogue among policymakers, experts, and stakeholders, fostering cooperation to build sustainable, resilient, and effective labour migration systems.
Through presentations, case studies, and interactive sessions, the conference will highlight actionable measures to enhance policy coherence and collaboration between Cyprus, the EU, and partner countries.
