EMN Belgium establishes closer links with practitioners in the Immigration Office
During two lunch & learn sessions this week, the team of EMN Belgium met around 70 practitioners of the Immigration Office to inform them about the European Migration Network, to invite them to actively participate in the national network, and to explore concrete cooperation opportunities.
On Tuesday 30 May and Thursday 1 June 2023, the team of the Belgian Contact Point of the European Migration Network (EMN) organised two lunch & learn sessions to inform and network with practitioners of the Immigration Office.
EMN Belgium presented many publications (annual report on migration and asylum, studies, informs, ad hoc queries, glossary, quarterly newsletter) and tools (events, website, social networks) that can be used by their partners within the Immigration Office. EMN Belgium also called on the experts to communicate their information needs and to share their expertise in publications and during events from the Network.
The participants in the lunch & learn sessions showed a lot of interest in the activities of the EMN. They enquired for example about the possibility to launch an ad hoc query or to propose a study topic. They also requested additional information on the EMN publications (objectivity, quality, balance between theory and practice...), on future events planned by EMN Belgium and on the synergies and complementarities between the EMN and other agencies such as the European Union Agency for Asylum.
If you wish to know what is the EMN, what are the EMN publications and tools, and what are the cooperation opportunities, please read the PowerPoint presentations (in French or in Dutch) attached below.
