"Destination Europe" is proposed as a tool on the learning platform “Other Talk – Teaching Migration”
The learning tool “Destination Europe” is now offered to Dutch-speaking secondary school teachers who want to introduce their students to decision-making on migration and integration.
Caritas International Belgium and the IOM have joined forces in the Other Talk - Teaching Migration project. They have developed a learning platform, providing current and future teachers of Dutch-speaking secondary schools in Belgium with working tools to strengthen their teaching capacity concerning migrants and refugees, as well as the use of the media relating to these themes. The tools also promote the development of critical thinking among students on these topics in their classes.
The learning platform contains a learning path and a toolkit. Among other tools, “Destination Europe” is proposed with a view to introduce students to decision-making on migration and integration by letting them take on the role of decision-makers themselves. In different rounds, students take on the role of stakeholders at EU, national and city level and reflect on future scenarios. “Destination Europe” which was developed by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Migration Network, is designed for pupils and students aged 16 and over.
