CGRS publishes Data on Asylum Applications for July 2011
Every month, the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons publishes a document containing the statistics on the asylum applications and the decisions taken.
The number of asylum applications, the principal nationalities involved, the number and nature of the decisions, as well as the evolution of the workload can be consulted in the monthly statistics document.
In July 2011, 1.919 asylum applications were registered by the CGRS, a rise with 2,46% compared to June 2011, the top five countries of origin were Afghanistan, Iraq, Russia, Guinee and Kosovo.
The CGRS took 1.310 asylum decissions in July 2011; 187 persons received the refugee status and 76 decissions granting subsidiary protection.
The CGRS also presents its statistical overview of the past years.
The data for July 2011 are available on the website of the CGRS in French and Dutch and will soon be available in English.
