CGRS publishes data on asylum applications for April 2012
Every month, the Office of the Commissioner Gereral for Refugees and Stateless persons (CGRS) publishes a document containing the statistics on the asylum applications and the first instance decisions.
The statistics for April show the following trends:
- In April 1.656 asylum applications were lodged; this is a decrease compared to March 2012 by 6,4%.
- In April, the main countries of origin were Aghanistan (14,3% of the total), Guinee (8,3%), Russia (7,5%), DR Congo (6%) and Pakistan (4,3%).
- In April, 247 décisions granting the refugee status were taken and 86 decisions granting the subsidiary protection statys. (on a total of 1.594 decisions).
