The CGRS partially suspends the notification of decisions in cases concerning applicants from Lebanon

On 31 March 2026, the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRS) announced that it would temporarily suspend the notification of certain decisions in cases concerning applicants from Lebanon, in view of the current situation in the country.

The CGRS will continue to notify decisions granting refugee status, decisions granting subsidiary protection status, as well as inadmissibility decisions concerning persons who already benefit from protection status in another EU Member State.

However, the notification of decisions refusing refugee status and refusing subsidiary protection status is temporarily suspended.

The CGRS indicated that this measure is temporary and will remain in place until it has access to sufficient objective information to accurately assess the security situation in Lebanon and the risk of persecution.
