About this report:

Chapter 1 ‘Asylum figures’ contains statistics concerning the number of asylum applications in Belgium in 2010 (with a focus on EU nationals, unaccompanied foreign minors and gender), the number of decisions taken by the CGRS that year, the processing terms and the backlog.

In chapter 2, it is explained how the CGRS assesses an asylum application: the examination and the interview by the protection officer, the role of the interpreter, the research by Cedoca and the support by the legal service. It will also give you some additional information about the coordination of specific cases (minors, gender, public order, psychological evaluation). The report finally also contains figures about the second mission of the CGRS: issuing documents to recognized refugees and stateless persons.
