Capacity building workshop: Screening of third-country nationals at the EU external borders (2 days)
This workshop, jointly organised by the General Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Luxembourg, the Detention Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs and EMN Luxembourg, will serve as a platform for Member States to exchange their first insights on progress made and challenges encountered while adapting to the new requirements put in place by the Screening Regulation.
What
The new Screening Regulation, which was formally adopted on 14 May 2024 as part of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, aims to ensure that all persons subject to screening are swiftly referred to the relevant procedure—asylum or return—at the border or away from the border.
During this capacity-building workshop, national experts will exchange insights on progress made and challenges encountered while adapting to the new requirements of the Screening Regulation (EU 2024/1356). The EU Agencies, which are tasked by the Screening Regulation to provide support and guidance to the Member States, will provide interventions within the limits of their mandates.
When
