Asylum Procedures Directive and Eurodac Regulation endorsed by Coreper
Coreper reached an agreement today on the final two legislative texts forming part of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS).
Representatives of the Member States approved proposals for compromise texts on the recast of the Asylum Procedures Directive and the Eurodac Regulation which emerged from meetings with the European Parliament last week.
The adoption of both of these measures remains subject to the approval of the European Parliament and the Council.
The Common European Asylum System package is composed of:
•The revised Asylum Procedures Directive, trilogue agreement on 21 March.
•The revised Reception Conditions Directive, on which political agreement was reached in 2012.
•The revised Qualification Directive, already adopted in November 2011.
•The revised EURODAC Regulation, trilogue agreement on 21 March.
•The revised Dublin Regulation.
