5.336 persons obtained Belgian nationality in April 2025, according to Statbel
According to Statbel, the Belgian statistical office, 5.336 persons obtained Belgian nationality in April 2025. The main countries of origin of people who acquired Belgian nationality in April are Morocco, Romania, Syria, France and Turkey.
The figures related to April 2025 come from the provisional monthly results of the statistics on changes of nationality calculated on the basis of Demobel, Statbel’s demographic database.
To put these numbers into perspective, in 2024, 60.108 inhabitants acquired Belgian nationality and 42 lost it, which represents a total of 60.150 nationality changes. The top five nationalities who obtained Belgian nationality in 2024 include Moroccans (5.647), Syrians (3,639), Romanians (3.336), Afghans (2.771) and Turks (2.463).
