15 years of European Migration Network!

Today marks a decade and a half of the European Migration Network (EMN) providing objective and reliable migration and asylum information. Throughout the years, the EMN has been meeting the information needs of Community institutions and of Member States’ authorities and institutions on migration and asylum, and supporting policymaking in these areas.

The European Migration Network (EMN) was established by the Council Decision of 14 May 2008. It was mainly tasked to inform European policymakers and the general public by providing up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum.

As a key part of its information-providing role, the EMN produces annual policy reports, studies and informs on specific topics, ad hoc queries on a wide range of asylum- and migration-related issues, quarterly newsletters and a Glossary on Asylum and Migration. The EMN disseminates these publications and fosters information exchange and discussion during conferences and events.

Thank you to all the experts of the EMN national contact points and to all the partners of the network for the work accomplished during the last fifteen years. The challenges remain significant and the EMN remains committed to informing policy-makers, practitioners and the wider public through evidence-based information on migration and asylum

To mark its 15th anniversary, the EMN will organize an event in September 2023.
