This study provides an overview of the social security entitlements of certain categories of immigrants in Belgium. It also analyses the socio-economic position of immigrants in Belgium.

In a globalised economic environment, labour mobility both within the EU and between the EU and the rest of the world is a growing reality and necessity. Social security coordination is a system of rules aimed at facilitating such mobility.

The main findings of the corresponding EMN study on migrant access to social security in Belgium and of the European synthesis report on migrant access to social security in the EU will be presented. EMN will also welcome well-known experts in the field of migration and social security.
