Deze gezamenlijke EMN-OESO inform geeft een overzicht van de verschillende benaderingen van de ontwikkeling, de implementatie, monitoring en evaluatie, en de daaropvolgende aanpassing van migratiestrategieën in EMN-leden en waarnemende landen en niet-EU OESO landen. De inform geeft ook enkele voorbeelden van gemeenschappelijke uitdagingen en goede praktijken bij het ontwikkelen en implementeren van migratiestrategieën.  

The Council of Ministers approved, at second reading, two draft bills aimed at implementing the European Pact on Migration and Asylum in Belgian law. The texts were adopted with a view to their submission to the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium under an urgent procedure. The first draft bill aims to apply or transpose eight legislative instruments of the Pact into Belgian law, while the second concerns procedures before the Council for Alien Law Litigation.

On 11 June 2025, the European Commission published a report reviewing the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum, halfway through its implementation phase, which is expected to be completed by June 2026. The report provides an overview of progress across the main elements of the Common Implementation Plan, while identifying remaining operational and legal challenges. A mid-term review of the Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion 2021–2027 was also released.

Op 17 en 18 oktober 2024 nam EMN België deel aan de Odysseus Netwerk Conferentie 2024 over EU Wetgeving na het Pact. Dit evenement bood EMN België de kans om een diepgaand inzicht te krijgen in enkele van de 485 pagina's van de nieuwe wettelijke instrumenten die door het nieuwe Pact inzake Migratie en Asiel werden geïntroduceerd. 

De workshop zal de uitdagingen en beste praktijken belichten bij de toepassing van de richtlijn tijdelijke bescherming in Duitsland, Nederland en Litouwen. De deelnemers zullen ook toekomstscenario's bespreken om de bescherming van Oekraïners te blijven garanderen.

On 23 May 2024, the Commission and representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society discussed the implementation of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum. NGOs asked the Commission to encourage EU countries to work with civil society. They also shared concerns on the border procedure and respect of fundamental rights, and underlined the need for resources.

The Belgian Presidency of the EU Council organised a Ministerial Conference to work towards a common understanding of the main stages of the implementation of the Pact. Particular attention was paid to the development of common and national implementation plans, the role of EU agencies and key stakeholders, as well as good practices from EU countries.
