Dit rapport biedt een diagnose van de sterke en zwakke punten van het Vlaamse kader voor het beheer van economische migratie en aanbevelingen voor mogelijke hervormingsgebieden. Het rapport presenteert ook enkele van de eerste empirische analyses en inzichten met betrekking tot het behoud en aantrekken van economische migranten in Vlaanderen.

This country report for Belgium prepared in the frame of the POSTING.STAT 2.0 project, examines the characteristics, the scale, and the impact of intra-EU posting from and to Belgium as well as the characteristics and the scale of infringements which are related to it.

Deze ad hoc vraag verzamelt informatie over nationale regelgeving en praktijken met betrekking tot gedetacheerde werknemers uit derde landen, met de nadruk op aanvullende voorwaarden voor het in dienst nemen van gedetacheerde werknemers (bv. de noodzaak om een gemotiveerde kennisgeving in te dienen om de tewerkstellingsperiode te verlengen, sectorspecifieke vereisten enz.) en maatregelen om de werving in specifieke sectoren of beroepen te vergemakkelijken.

Myria has published the fourth thematic section of its 2024 annual report. In this section, entitled « Economic migration, free movement and students » Myria notes that more third-country nationals were posted to Belgium in 2023 than in 2022. Posted workers from third countries are more vulnerable to exploitation than EU-based posted workers. Therefore, they urgently need increased legal protection, according to Myria.

Myria has published the fourth thematic section of its 2023 annual report. This section entitled "Economic migration, free movement en students" reports that 8.098 long-stay visas were granted for professional reasons to third-country nationals in 2022 (46% more than in 2021) and 19.721 single permits were issued to third-country nationals in 2022 (75% more than in 2021).
