Onder de goedkeuring van het EMN Platform voor Staatloosheid onderzoekt deze ad hoc vraag het wettelijk kader en de praktijk van EMN Lidstaten inzake het voorkomen dat staatlozen in meerdere landen tegelijk sociale voorzieningen en gezondheidszorg ontvangen.

Op 27 oktober 2025 komen belanghebbenden in Luxemburg bijeen om te bespreken hoe het EU-pact inzake migratie en asiel staatloosheid als kwetsbaarheid aanpakt. De bijeenkomst zal zich richten op de eerste ervaringen met de uitvoering van de nieuwe verplichtingen uit hoofde van de verordeningen inzake screening en asielprocedures. De bijeenkomst wordt georganiseerd in het kader van het EMN-platform inzake staatloosheid en biedt ruimte voor uitwisseling tussen nationale deskundigen, EU-agentschappen en internationale organisaties.

On 13 June 2024, the Court of Justice of the European Union released its judgment in the case C-563/22 involving a stateless Palestinian mother and her child, registered with UNRWA, who left the Gaza strip to seek protection in Bulgaria. In this case, the Court provided guidance on the interpretation of Article 12(1)(a) of Directive 2011/95/EU and of Article 40(1) of Directive 2013/32/EU. 

Het Europees Platform over Staatloosheid, de VN Hoge Commissaris voor de Vluchtelingen en het Europees Migratienetwerk the European hebben een conferentie georganiseerd over "Addressing Statelessness in the European Union, One year on from the adoption of European Council Conclusions". 

This EMN/UNHCR Ireland seminar invites participants to examine both the challenges and advantages associated with establishing a statelessness determination procedure.

The Luxembourg Contact Point of the EMN organizes a Conference on Statelessness to foster the exchange of good practices among Member States.
