In de Europese Unie zijn naar schatting 400.000 mensen erkend staatloos of hebben geen vastgestelde nationaliteit (UNHCR, 2018). Op 27 oktober 2025 komen belanghebbenden in Luxemburg bijeen om te bespreken hoe het EU-pact inzake migratie en asiel staatloosheid als kwetsbaarheid aanpakt. De bijeenkomst zal zich richten op de eerste ervaringen met de uitvoering van de nieuwe verplichtingen uit hoofde van de verordeningen inzake screening en asielprocedures. De bijeenkomst wordt georganiseerd in het kader van het EMN-platform inzake staatloosheid en biedt ruimte voor uitwisseling tussen nationale deskundigen, EU-agentschappen en internationale organisaties.
