5.297 persons obtained Belgian nationality in February 2024, according to Statbel
According to Statbel, the Belgian statistical office, 5.297 persons obtained Belgian nationality in February 2024. The main countries of origin of people who acquired Belgian nationality in February are Morocco, Romania, Syria, Afghanistan and Turkey.
To put these numbers into perspective, in 2023, 55.213 inhabitants obtained the Belgian nationality and 51 inhabitants lost it.
The figures related to February 2024 come from the provisional monthly results of the statistics on changes of nationality calculated on the basis of Demobel, Statbel’s demographic database.
Demobel contains an overview of the structure of the population (numbers, gender, age, nationalities) and of the movement of the population (births, deaths, migration, changes of nationality).
