Lecture: Refugee-Crisis in North-Africa and its Implications for the Belgian Asylum Policy

On 2 May 2011 (12.30-14.00h) the NGO's Flemish Refugee Action and Amnesty International organize in collaboration with UNHCR and the University of Antwerp a lecture on the implications of the current crisis in North-Africa. The lecture will take place at the University of Antwerp

The lecture will be opend by Prof. Dirk Vanheule (University of Antwerp). Mrs. Anneliese Baldaccini (Amnesty International) will report about her visit on Lampedusa assisted by Prof Melita Sunjic, spokeswoman of UNHCR Europe, who will report about the situation of refugees in the region. Mrs Kathelijne Houben (Flemish Refugee Action) will reflect on the consequences for the Belgian policy on asylum.
